After months of shoppers asking when the Christmas offers would go up, Sainsbury’s in Ellesmere Port today answered that question – October 2nd.
Traditionally Sainsbury’s has its Christmas offers up in mid-July, with the height of Summer seeing the start of festively decorated shelves, novelty calendars and ‘gifts for men’ dotted throughout the store. However, this year shoppers were left wondering what was happening in the store.
With it now being October, some shoppers were questioning whether Sainsbury’s was even going to bother at all this year.
Mrs Jones, from Wolverham Road, commented:
There’s less than 3 months left to Christmas. I did think Sainsbury’s had forgotten all about Christmas this year.
Mrs Jones added how she would check Sainsbury’s every day to see if the decorations were up, and would always leave disheartened. Upon seeing the festive offers hit the aisles today, she was more positive about the future:
Better late than never I suppose, we can get on with Christmas shopping now!
Sainsbury’s apologised for getting its Christmas offers up so late this year, and blamed the delay on parcel delivery firm YODEL, who had delivered all their instore POS to Morrisons.
