Liverpool’s leaky defence is to be shored up by Spaniard Juan Sheet, who ‘does the job of three’.
The Red Army’s defence was exposed again this weekend as Newcastle scored a bizarre equalizer, made possible by the huge gap left in-between Matip and Lovren. Manager Jürgen Klopp, having failed in the Summer to bolster his troublesome defence, announced earlier this morning that a deal to bring Juan Sheet to Anfield in the January window has been agreed.
The player, knicknamed ‘Plenty’, is famed for ‘doing the job of three’ – something Liverpool desperately need right now as they have leaked almost as many Premier League goals as they have scored.
Jürgen Klopp celebrated two years in charge this weekend, but he has failed to solve the problems at the back with Liverpool looking just as susceptible to soft goals as they did under Brendan Rodgers. Klopp believes Juan Sheet can solve that problem.
Speaking in a press conference earlier today, Klopp told the media:
Juan is a top player. He doesn’t mind if it’s wet and he does the job of three. We’re looking forward to working with him.
Liverpool fans are understandably keen to get a look at the player they’ve agreed a deal to sign in January, so the Bugle has provided this highlight reel of some of Juan Sheet’s best moments. He looks like he could be the answer to Liverpool’s problematic defence as he doesn’t fall apart under pressure and can mop up at the back.
What do you think of Juan Sheet’s signing? Will he be a success at Anfield? Let us know in the comments.
